How to View, Edit and Download Transcript of a Media

The Transcription Pane in VIDIZMO offers you a chronological list of closed captions against the media. These captions are linked with the point in the media where they were used/spoken about. This ensures a smoother user experience with greater meaningful insights about the content, enhancing user interest and engagement.

Prerequisites​

  • Ensure you belong to a group with the Transcription Editing feature enabled, or have a CAL that grants this permission.

View the Transcript​

  1. From the portal homepage or media library, select the media you want to view.
  2. On the playback page, select the Transcription tab on the right side of the player.

The transcription pane displays the closed caption transcript with timed entries. Selecting any transcript line navigates the player to that point in the media.

Search for a Term​

  1. Enter a term in the Search field at the top of the transcription pane.

If the searched term is found, all of its instances are highlighted. Use the Enter or Arrow Down key to navigate through the search results.

Edit the Transcript​

  1. Select the overflow menu icon (three dots) in the transcription pane.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. The transcript enters editable mode where text portions can be edited individually.
  4. To remove a line, select the - button on that line.
  5. Select the checkmark button to save your changes, or select the X button to cancel editing.

Download the Transcript​

  1. Select the overflow menu icon (three dots) in the transcription pane.
  2. Select Download.
  3. In the Export Transcription dialog, select a format. The transcription can be downloaded as a CSV, DOCX, or PDF file.
  4. Optionally, select a translation language from the dropdown. Only languages that were selected in the Insights Translation field during processing are available.
  5. Optionally, select a template to personalize the transcription file. To learn more about transcription templates, see Understanding Transcription Templates in VIDIZMO.
  6. Select Export to download the transcription file.

Change Font Size​

  1. Select the overflow menu icon (three dots) in the transcription pane.
  2. Select Font Size to toggle between normal and large font size for the transcript.

Select Language of Transcription​

You can view the translation of the transcript in any of the languages that were selected in Insights Translation while processing the media.

  1. Select the language dropdown in the transcription pane.
  2. Select the desired language.

The transcript updates to display the selected language.

Sync with Player​

Enable the Sync with Player toggle in the transcription pane to automatically scroll the transcript in sync with media playback. When disabled, the transcript stays at your manual scroll position.
