How to Insert Handout in a Video
Handouts are files of any size and type that you can attach to any certain point within your videos, right through built-in VIDIZMO Studio without any integration with third-party tools. In addition to video content, you can now enrich your audience with the aided documents, downloadable software files, or presentation slides that can substantially help them in either setting up your product for further use, or in better grasping the concepts being delivered in a tutorial guide.
Now include any files, documents or important notes relevant to the content right within the video itself, and explore the power of advanced contextualized marketing and training. To learn more about it, see: Understanding Handouts.
Before You Start
- Ensure you belong to a group with OnDemand Studio feature enabled, or have a CAL that grants permissions to utilize it.
- To understand more about Studio Space, and how certain options will redefine your interactive video experience, see: Understanding Video Interactivity using Studio Space.
Go to Studio Space
Navigating to Studio Space from the Portal's Homepage:
- From the top left navigation menu, go to Admin > Media Manager to centrally manage your portal's media content.
- Locate the specific video to which you want to add interactive media, and then select its overflow menu.
- From the overflow menu options, select Studio Space. This will redirect you to Studio Space, where you can conveniently manage and incorporate interactive elements into your chosen video.
Insert Handout within Video
Here you are at your own very own Studio Space, from where you can add interactive media to enhance your audience's video experience. Here's how:
-
Select Handout to add one at any point during a video.
-
Here, you will see a list of all interactive handouts added within a video, in your case, none. Select Add New to proceed.
-
Now comes your playground. Here is how you can choose a handout and determine player behavior when it renders during your video:
-
Select Choose File to browse your machine to find the relevant file to be attached to the video. You'll see an indicative icon when the file is being uploaded.
-
Following will be a listing of the files that have successfully been uploaded in the portal, from where you can edit their name or remove the file if you may. You can attach as many files as you wish (of whatever size) against one instance in a video.
-
Load at option allows you to drop your handout on any point in the video using the scrubber below the player while viewing the video content at that point for ease of context. To load the handout, simply drag it onto the desired point on the timeline.
-
After you are done inserting handouts at specific contexts within the video, you can choose to add another timed set of handouts by selecting Add New. Similarly, if you change your mind and wish to redo the attachments from scratch, you can remove the handouts too.
-
Now's the time to tell the world! Select the Publish button at the top right to propagate your changes to your video; otherwise, select Discard to lose the changes.
-
To view the attached handouts, select the Attachment icon.
Note: If you happen to refresh the page during the process by error or chance, your changes will not be saved. So make sure to select Publish as soon as you think you've reached the mark.
-
To learn more about how handouts shall be displayed when a video is watched, see Handouts Experience during Video Playback.
