How to Configure Custom Upload Media

VIDIZMO allows Portal Managers to configure upload settings that control how users upload and process media. These settings include content moderation, custom attribute enforcement, and custom processing options.

Custom processing options enable users to select specific processing configurations when uploading media, such as transcoding profiles and AI Insight generation. This provides users with more control over their media processing and can optimize storage and processing costs.

To learn more about this feature, see Understanding Custom Upload Media.

Prerequisites

  • You must belong to a group with Portal Management feature enabled, or have a CAL that grants this permission.

Configure Upload Settings

  1. In the left navigation panel, expand Admin and select Portal Settings.
  2. In the Portal Settings navigation, expand Library.
  3. Select Upload Settings.
  4. Configure the following options based on your requirements:

Draft Media if Mandatory Custom Attribute Fields Have Not Been Filled

When enabled, media uploads are automatically saved as drafts if required custom attribute fields are not completed during the initial publish. This ensures content compliance with your organization's metadata requirements.

NOTE: This option is only visible if you have the Draft permission enabled.

Allow Content Moderation

When enabled, uploaded content requires approval before publishing. Configure the following sub-options:

  • Number of Moderators Required: Specify how many moderators must approve content before it is published (minimum: 1).
  • Need to Moderate Moderator's Content: When enabled, content uploaded by moderators also requires approval from other moderators.
  • Allow Users to Approve Self Changes: When enabled, users can approve their own content changes without requiring a separate moderator.

NOTE: Content moderation options are only visible if you have the Approve permission enabled.

Allow User to Upload Content with Custom Processing Options

When enabled, users can select custom processing settings when uploading media, including:

  • Whether to transcode the media
  • Whether to generate AI Insights
  • Source language selection
  • Translation language selection
  • Indexing mode configuration
  1. Select Update to save your changes.
