How to Set Custom Domain for a Portal

VIDIZMO allows you to configure a custom domain for your portal. For available domain options, see Understanding Domain Options for a Portal.

Prerequisites

  • Belong to a group with Portal Management feature enabled, or have a CAL that grants this permission.
  • Access to your domain provider's control panel to configure DNS and SSL settings.

Configure DNS Settings

DNS settings establish the connection between your custom domain name and the IP address where VIDIZMO hosts your site.

To configure DNS settings:

  1. Access your domain name provider's control panel.
  2. Locate the A Records settings. A Records point a domain or subdomain to an IP address.
  3. Change the A Records value to point to the VIDIZMO IP Address.

NOTE: Domain hosting providers offer mechanisms for mapping nameservers through their control panel. GoDaddy users can refer to Change nameservers for my domains for guidance on mapping nameservers to the VIDIZMO IP address.

Set Custom Domain in VIDIZMO

  1. Select the menu icon in the top left corner to open the navigation pane.
  2. Expand the Admin section.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Go to Branding > Domains.
  5. Select Custom Domain from the domain options.
  6. Optional: Enable Always Use HTTPS for added security. See How to Configure your Portal to use HTTPS only.
  7. Enter your custom domain name that you mapped to the VIDIZMO IP Address.
  8. Select Update.

A confirmation message appears indicating the portal information has been updated.
