How to Configure Thresholds for Consumption Alerts

VIDIZMO grants users an extensive monitoring mechanism for the resources being consumed in their Account by providing the ability to set Consumption Alerts. Organizations can create multiple thresholds by setting certain percentages of the allowed package limits for which the consumption is being incurred. This caters to the needs of organizations in preventing overages and additional cost peaks at the end of their Billing Period by receiving email notifications whenever a threshold set for a particular resource is exceeded.

Prerequisites

  • Users must belong to a group with the Billing Report permission enabled to access this feature.

Configure Consumption Alerts

  1. In VIDIZMO, select the Navigation Menu.
  2. Go to Admin > Portal Settings.
  3. Expand the Account tab.
  4. Select Consumption Alerts.
  5. Select Add Alerts to set thresholds for consumption alerts.
  6. In the Consumption Category dropdown, select the category you want to set an alert on.
  7. In the Consumption Resource dropdown, select the resource you want to set an alert on.
  8. Enter the percentage of Allowed Limit you want to set an alert on for the selected category and resource.
  9. Select Save to add the threshold. You can save multiple thresholds.
  10. Once done adding all required thresholds, select Save and Close to close the modal.
  11. Select Update at the bottom of the screen to save the changes.

Note: The range of percentage that can be set for any resource alert is 0.01% - 65000%.

Delete Consumption Alerts

  1. In VIDIZMO, go to Admin > Portal Settings > Account > Consumption Alerts.
  2. Select the Delete icon on the right of the threshold you want to delete.
  3. On the confirmation prompt, select Delete to confirm.
  4. Select Update to save your changes.

Subscribe/Unsubscribe Consumption Alerts

You can subscribe or unsubscribe from consumption alerts using one of the following methods:

From User CAL Page

  1. In VIDIZMO, select the Navigation Menu.
  2. Go to Admin > Control Panel.
  3. Select the user CAL you want to configure.
  4. Select Notification Settings.
  5. Navigate to the Portal tab.
  6. In the Portal section, enable or disable the Consumption Threshold Reached event as required.
  7. Select Update to save the changes.

The alerts will be assigned to the user with that particular CAL.

From User And Groups

  1. In VIDIZMO, select the Navigation Menu.
  2. Go to Admin > User and Groups.
  3. Select the group you want to configure.
  4. Select Notification Settings.
  5. In the Portal section, enable or disable the Consumption Threshold Reached event as required.
  6. Select Update to save the changes.

The alerts will be assigned to all users present in that group.

Note: Subscribing to the Consumption Threshold Reached event enables users to receive alerts for the thresholds set in an Account. Any user who does not wish to receive consumption alert emails can disable this setting.
