Consumption Reports for SaaS Deployment Overview
To help you make informed business decisions regarding resource consumption when managing your VIDIZMO Account deployed on a SaaS environment, you can view your Consumption Reports with ease. The reports are generated on a daily basis and can be filtered by multiple time periods for thorough usage analysis.
In VIDIZMO, detailed consumption reports can be utilized by an organization to monitor usage of different services, maintain budgets, and track overages of VIDIZMO resources being consumed.
Access Consumption Reports
In VIDIZMO, go to Navigation Menu > Portal Settings > Account > Consumption Reports.
Reports dashboard layout
The Consumption Reports page shows a header with the title Consumption Reports for All Portals and a portal filter dropdown (All Portals by default). Below the header, a row of tabs organizes reports by category:
Add-Ons | Processing | CALs | Portal | Storage | Bandwidth | Trends | Others
Each tab shows a date filter (Current Billing Period dropdown with the billing date range), the billing period label (e.g., "Billing Period is Annual"), and a Refresh Report link.
Charts on each tab include action buttons in the top-right corner:
- Download — export the report as a CSV file
- Export chart — save the chart as an image
- Toggle view — switch between graphical (bar chart) and tabular (table) view
Where available, a counter selector dropdown in the top-right of the chart lets you switch the unit of measurement (e.g., between PU and GB, or between SU and GB).
Billing categories
Add-Ons
Displays consumption for any add-on features enabled on your account. This tab is only visible if your plan includes add-ons.
Processing
Tracks all content processing activities, measured in Processing Units (PU). The chart groups processing into subcategories so you can see where your PU consumption comes from:
- Processing — general workflow processing and API calls
- Object Detection — face, person, vehicle, license plate, weapon, device, signature, street sign, and activity detection
- OCR — optical character recognition across video, image, and document formats
- Transcription — speech-to-text conversion
- Translation — audio, video, and document translation
- Summarization — audio, video, and document summarization
- Redaction — audio, video, image, and document redaction
- Embedding — vector embedding generation for semantic search
- PII Detection — standard and custom PII detection
- Chapters — AI-generated chapter creation
- Transcoding — media encoding into multiple formats
- Malware Scan — content security scanning
Use the counter selector to switch between Processing Unit (PU-unit) (default, billable), Computation (hours), Input Content Length (hours), Input Content Size (GB), or Input Number of Pages.
CALs
Displays the quantity of all CAL (Client Access License) types in your account. The chart shows a bar for each CAL type (e.g., Administrator, Power+, Viewer) with consumed versus allowed counts.
Portal
Displays the total number of portals in your account against your allowed limit.
Storage
Reports the amount of space used to store content, measured in Storage Units (SU). The chart breaks storage down by tier, each shown as a separate bar:
- Hot Storage — frequently accessed content
- Cool Storage — infrequently accessed content at reduced cost
- Archive Storage — long-term retention at lowest cost
- Total Allowed — your overall storage limit
Use the counter selector to switch between Storage Unit (SU-unit) (default, billable) and GB for individual tiers (Hot Storage GB, Cool Storage GB, Archive Storage GB).
A second chart, Moving data from one tier to another, tracks data transfers between storage tiers (e.g., Hot to Cool, Cool to Archive).
Note: Storage always reports the highest amount consumed up to the specified time.
Bandwidth
Tracks all bandwidth consumption, measured in Bandwidth Units (BU). This includes data transferred when uploading, playing back, downloading, and loading portal resources.
Use the counter selector to switch between Bandwidth Unit (BU), Egress (GB), and Ingress (GB).
Note: Content served from cache is not reported under this category.
Others
Displays additional consumption metrics that don't fall under the main categories above.
Report details
Consumed vs. allowed
Each category tab shows your current consumption against your plan limit:
- Consumed — the number of units used for that resource
- Total Allowed — the maximum usage included in your plan
- Overage — usage beyond your plan limit, charged according to your contract terms
If you aren't billed for a particular resource, the report shows consumption only, without an allowed limit or overage bar. The tabular view shows "Not Billed" under the Allowed Limit column.
Consumption period
A consumption period (billing cycle) is the interval for which the license is purchased. Options include:
| Period | Duration | Report Display |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | 30 days | Aggregated consumption for the entire month |
| Quarterly | 3 months | Aggregated consumption for the entire quarter |
| Bi-annually | 6 months | Aggregated consumption for 6 months |
| Annually | 1 year | Aggregated consumption for the entire year |
VIDIZMO allows the consumption period to be configured per billing category according to your organizational needs. Your organization can purchase annual limits for one category (e.g., Storage) and quarterly limits for another (e.g., Processing).

Trends
The Trends tab displays line charts of quantitative usage over a continuous time period, allowing organizations to see engagement and utilization of services over time. For example, storage reports for "This Month" show units consumed for each week.
Billing Filter
The billing cycle encompasses the period from your portal's creation date and extends for 30 days. Users can apply filters based on weekly, monthly, or customized reporting preferences.
Billing considerations
-
Storage billing: Consumption is always the maximum SU consumed up to the current date. If you stored 100 SU worth of content in March and deleted it all at month's end, your report still shows 100 SU and you're charged accordingly. On the first day of the next billing period, this resets to actual storage that day.
-
Users and Portals billing: You're charged for the maximum count during the entire billing period. If you started with 50 Administrators and deleted 25 by year's end, you're still invoiced for 50.
