How to Clip Media from Media Manager

Clipping allows you to trim specific segments of your media or select segments to publish as new media. You can trim unwanted content from the beginning or end, or create multiple segments that VIDIZMO stitches together into a single video.

Prerequisites​

Before you begin, ensure you:

  • Belong to a group with Clipping permission enabled
  • Have a video or audio file uploaded to VIDIZMO

Clip Media​

  1. In VIDIZMO, go to Admin > Media Manager.

  2. Select the overflow menu on the media item.

  3. Select Clip.

  4. On the Clip screen, set the Start Time and End Time for your segment.

  5. Configure the clipping options:

    • Accuracy - Ensures precision in media size and bit rate. Keep enabled to avoid audio/video sync issues.
    • Transcode - Generates multiple renditions based on enabled encoding profiles.
    • Generate Thumbnails - Captures a new thumbnail for the clip. If unchecked, uses the original media thumbnail.
    • Enable Optical Character Recognition - Extracts text from video frames for searchability.

  6. Select the + icon to add the segment.

  7. To add multiple clips, repeat steps 4-6 for each segment. VIDIZMO stitches all clips together into a single video.

  8. Select Save as New or Save and Close.

The clipped media is published and available in Media Manager.
