Configuring VIDIZMO Indexer for Summarization

With the VIDIZMO Indexer, you can create summaries for documents, audio, and video files on your Portal. The application provides several summarization approaches, allowing you to choose summarization that analyzes visuals, audio-based transcriptions, or both. It also provides document summarization that analyzes the text within the document to create concise summaries.

To learn more about how summarization works and how these configurations affect the summary, see Understanding Summarization in VIDIZMO.

Prerequisites

  1. In VIDIZMO, select the menu icon in the top-left corner to open the navigation pane.
  2. Expand the Admin section and select Portal Settings.
  3. Go to Apps > Content Processing.
  4. Select the settings icon on the VIDIZMO Indexer app.

Configure Summarization

  1. Media Formats Select the media format(s) to perform summarization on. Choose Audio for sound-only files, Video for files with sound and visuals, and Document for files that contain selectable text. In a DEMS Portal, this field appears as Evidence Formats.

  2. Insights Select the summarization approach from the dropdown. The available options depend on the selected media or evidence formats. You can also add other AI insights in this field to apply them alongside summarization.

The following summarization approaches are available:

    • Audio Summarization Generates a summary based on the audio transcription. Available when Audio or Video is selected in Media Formats.
    • Video Summarization Generates a summary by analyzing the visual frames in the video. Available when Video is selected.
    • Video and Audio Summarization Combines both audio transcription and visual frame analysis to generate a summary. Available when both Video and Audio are selected in Media Formats.
    • Document Summarization Generates a summary by analyzing the text within the document. Available when Document is selected.

NOTE: You can select Audio Summarization and Video Summarization independently if you want to summarize using only one approach. To use both approaches together, select Video and Audio Summarization instead.

Video Summarization Settings

The following fields appear only when Video Summarization or Video and Audio Summarization is selected in Insights.

  1. Video Sampling Rate Select a value from 1 to 8 for the number of frames sampled per second from the video for processing. A lower value means fewer frames and faster processing. Recommended: 1. For more information, see Video Sampling Rate.

  2. Frame Similarity Threshold Select a threshold for discarding similar frames to ensure faster processing. A higher threshold discards more frames. Recommended: Medium. For more information, see Frame Similarity Threshold.

    • Disabled No frames are discarded.
    • High Discards the most similar frames.
    • Medium Balances processing speed with frame retention.
    • Low Discards fewer similar frames.

Forbidden Words

  1. Forbidden Words Provide the words that the AI model will avoid generating in the summaries. The model selects the next most probable words (similar in meaning) to replace the words in this list. See Forbidden Words for more details.

NOTE: This field is case-sensitive. Enter each word as an independent entry. Avoid using sentences or phrases, as the application counts the space between words as a separate entry.

Save and Enable

  1. Automatic Processing Select On to automatically process uploaded content for summarization, or Off to require on-demand processing.

  2. Select Save Changes to apply your settings.

  3. Turn on the toggle for the VIDIZMO Indexer app to enable processing.
