Configuring VIDIZMO Indexer for Insights

Use the VIDIZMO Indexer to generate speech, visual, or text-based AI insights for your Portal content. These insights include Transcriptions, Translations, PII Detection and Redaction, Chapters (Topics in DEMS), and Summarization for audio, video, documents, and images (where applicable). You can run processing automatically on new uploads or on-demand for existing items.

This article covers the common setup and links to configuration guides for each insight.

Prerequisites​

  • Ensure you belong to a group with App Management and the relevant feature permissions (for example, Transcription & Diarization, Translation, Document Translation, Image Translation, PII Detection, Redaction, Automatic Chapters & Summarization). See Enable Features in the VIDIZMO Portal.

Access the VIDIZMO Indexer​

  1. In VIDIZMO, select the menu icon in the top-left corner to open the navigation pane.
  2. Expand the Admin section and select Portal Settings.
  3. Go to Apps > Content Processing.
  4. Select the settings icon on the VIDIZMO Indexer app.

Configure the VIDIZMO Indexer​

The following are the common fields for configuring the VIDIZMO Indexer:

  1. Media Formats Select the content types you want to process. Choose Audio for sound-only files, Video for files with sound and visuals, Document for files that contain selectable text, and Image for image files. In a DEMS Portal, this field appears as Evidence Formats.

  2. Insights Select the insight(s) you want the app to generate. You can combine multiple insights in one run where supported. The available options depend on the selected media or evidence formats.

  3. Automatic Processing Select On to process newly uploaded items without manual intervention, or Off to require on-demand processing.

  4. Select Save Changes to apply your settings.

  5. Turn on the toggle for the VIDIZMO Indexer app to enable processing.

VIDIZMO Indexer Insights​

Transcriptions​

Generate transcripts for your audio or video content. The VIDIZMO Indexer automatically detects the spoken language to produce transcriptions.

Translations​

Translate content from your audio, video, document, and image files into a target language.

  • In Insights, add the translation type based on your selected format:
    • Translation for audio and video files.
    • Document Translation for document files.
    • Image Translation for image files.

PII Detection and Redaction​

Detect and optionally redact personally identifiable information (PII) from transcripts and through OCR for visual text.

  • In Insights, select the PII entities to detect. Include Custom PII to use your own entities created through custom patterns.
  • Optionally, configure Redaction Types to automatically redact detected PII, which reveals original file handling options (Retain File, Delete and Move to Recycle Bin, Override Original File).
  • Tune the Confidence Score, Excluded Words, Context Keywords, and Start/End Time Corrections for precise detection and redaction.

Chaptering​

Create chapters that act as navigable markers for your content. Chapters are generated based on the analysis of transcriptions.

Summarization​

Produce concise summaries for documents, audio, or video using audio-only, visual-only, or combined approaches.

  • In Insights, select a summarization approach. The available options vary based on the selected media or evidence formats.
  • For video summarization, adjust the Video Sampling Rate and Frame Similarity Threshold.
  • Use Forbidden Words to exclude specific terms from the output.

Troubleshooting​

The VIDIZMO Indexer does not appear under Content Processing

  • Confirm that your group has the App Management feature permission.
  • Confirm that you have permission for at least one AI feature mentioned in this article.

Automatic processing did not run

  • Ensure the app is enabled and Automatic Processing is On in the VIDIZMO Indexer settings. Verify that the selected Media Formats (or Evidence Formats) match the type of content you uploaded.

PII not detected or redaction is incomplete

  • Decrease the Confidence Score or refine Context Keywords. Add missing entities to Insights and to Redaction Types if you are redacting. Adjust the Time Interval Threshold and Start/End Time Corrections for tighter coverage.

Chapters did not appear

  • Confirm Chaptering is selected in Insights.
  • Confirm that your content contains spoken words on which transcriptions and chapters can be generated.
