How to Enable Multiple Download Renditions (Enabling Encoding Profile)

One of the features of VIDIZMO's Media Management is its ability to configure multiple renditions for a video. This ensures that the video can be viewed across various devices and platforms and in different renditions.

These renditions become available to the users who can change the quality of the videos they are watching during playback, allowing users to choose the best quality settings that would run smoothly on their network connection resulting in optimum viewing experience. This feature is for those viewers who experience network connectivity issues or are unable to play media on their personal device.

In order to allow users to download a media file in different renditions, these renditions must be configured in the Portal.

To learn more about Encoding Profiles, see: Understanding Encoding Profiles.

There are many use cases beyond network connectivity issues.

Prerequisite

Before you begin, verify that you are part of a group with the feature permission "Content Storage and Encoding Provider Management" enabled.

Access Control Panel

  1. Select the navigation menu on the top left of your screen.
  2. Expand the Admin tab.
  3. Select Control Panel.

Enable Encoding Profiles

  1. Go to Encoding > Encoding Profiles. This screen lists all renditions available in your Portal by default.
  2. Use the toggle button to enable renditions that you would like to be assigned to your videos.

Result

When you upload your media, these renditions become available for selection during media playback. To see your media in available rendition you need to enable the download option of uploaded media.
