How to Configure Email Templates

Email Templates define a standardized body of text sent to users to prompt them for various activities and their respective statuses in VIDIZMO.

VIDIZMO allows users to configure these emails and customize them based on business requirements. To learn more about Email Templates, see Understanding Email Templates in VIDIZMO.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you belong to a group with the Customization/Branding feature permission enabled.

Configure Email Template

  1. Open the navigation pane using the top-left button.
  2. Select Admin > Control Panel.
  3. Expand Email & SMTP and select Email Templates.
  4. Select Edit Email Templates from the top-right corner.
  5. In the pop-up, select Edit.
  6. Hover over any template and select the Edit icon at the end of the row.

Email Template Fields

  1. Email Templates: The name of the template is displayed here.
  2. Subject: The subject line exposed to the email receiver. You can modify it as per your requirements.
  3. Description: Enter the description for the email which corresponds to the event/activity. This field will not be exposed to the email receivers.
  4. Enable: Select to activate the email template for use within the application.
  5. Body: Rescript the body of the email to be sent. VIDIZMO provides an advanced Text Editor that displays a preview while you modify it.
  6. Select Save to update your changes.

NOTE: VIDIZMO allows you to add variables in Subject beside the Body, which helps you create dynamic subject lines for your intended users.

NOTE: All email templates contain commonly used terms/parameters (in the form of variables that dynamically translate to their values for the receivers) that an organization may want to use in the Body of the email. To learn more, see Understanding Programmable Email Templates in VIDIZMO.

A notification confirms the email template was updated successfully.

Reset Email Templates to Default

VIDIZMO allows you to reset all email notifications to the default text and settings.

  1. From the Email Template screen, select Reset.
  2. In the confirmation pop-up, select Reset.

NOTE: VIDIZMO also allows you to configure default email date and date-time formats. See How to Update Date and Time Settings using Application Configuration Keys. This setting is available only for on-premise deployments.
