How to Manage Content Formats

Content formats define the file formats supported by VIDIZMO. Each format is mapped to a media type (video, audio, image, document) which determines how VIDIZMO stores, processes, and delivers the content.

NOTE: This feature is available for on-premise deployments only. For cloud deployments, contact VIDIZMO support.

Prerequisites​

  • Ensure you belong to a group with Restricted Formats Management feature permission enabled.

WARNING: Deleting a content format will break the upload process for that format.

Navigate to Content Formats​

  1. Open the navigation pane using the top-left button.
  2. Select Admin > Control Panel.
  3. Select Content Formats.

Add Content Format​

  1. Select Add at the top left corner.
  2. Select the Type of media file (video, audio, image, document).
  3. Enter the Extension (e.g., mp3 for audio, m4v for video).
  4. Enter the Mime Type for the format (e.g., video/mp4, application/pdf). MIME types help applications identify how to handle the data.
  5. Select the add icon to save the record.

A notification confirms the content format was added.

Edit Content Format​

  1. Hover over the format in the list.
  2. Select the edit icon under Action.
  3. Modify the fields as needed.
  4. Select the tick icon to save, or cross icon to discard.

A notification confirms the content format was updated.

Delete Content Format​

  1. Hover over the format in the list.
  2. Select the delete icon under Action.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, select Delete to proceed or Cancel to abort.

A notification confirms the content format was deleted.
